Film Premiere “Beyond the Brink”
“Beyond the Brink” explores society’s future in a world where water, food, and natural resources teeter precariously on the edge of sustainability and calamity. The documentary focuses on California’s San Joaquin Valley — the nation’s agricultural heart — a place where drought and an uncertain ecological future have transformed the region into a microcosm of the complexities in the wider world. “Beyond the Brink” considers how water scarcity and food security may affect national security. But the film also provides a path forward, exploring efforts underway to avert catastrophe and improve prospects for a sustainable future.
